Retiring from the U.S. Army in 1960, Maj. Valley was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. A former Michigantown resident, he graduated from Ohio State University at Columbus, Ohio, with a major in aero-nautical engineering.
Born April 24, 1919, in Columbus, he was the son of Dr. George and Rosalie (Kula) Valley. On February 15, 1948, he married Ruth Rule, and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Dr. George E. of Fr. Collins, Colorado, Randall and Jeffery of Michigantown; a daughter, Christian Guffy of Michigantown; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Little officiating. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery. Friends may call between 4-8 p.m.Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home.
