Leona "Ruth" Valley, 75, Michigantown, died at 3:30 p.m. December 27, 1995, in Clinton County Hospital after a month's illness.
Mrs. Valley had taught at Greenwood High School, Kirklin High School, Community Schools of Frankfort and in Germany for the Department of Defense. She also had been librarian for Lincoln and Woodside Elementary schools.

She was a member of Michigantown United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma International and Purdue Alumni Association. She had been active in Association of Indiana Media Educators, AAU, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Indiana State Teachers Association, International Gifted Educators Association and Zonta International.

She graduated from Michigantown High School and Purdue University. She served in the American Red Cross in Europe during World War II and Korea.

She was born February 16, 1920, in Cloverdale, to Woodie Otis and Minnie Ethel Cue Rule. She married George A. Valley on February 15, 1948 and he died December 1, 1983.

Surviving are three sons, George E. of Fort Collins, Colorado, Randall Rule Valley of Kirklin and Jeffery Lee Valley of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. David (Christina Lynn) Guffy of Michigantown; five brothers, Hubert, Wilbur and Russell Rule, all of Michigantown, Estill Rule of Frankfort and Jewell Rule of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Garnet) Clidence of Michigantown; and six grandchildren.

A brother preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Michigantown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Emmett Ade officiating. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Goodwin Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Friday in the church.
