Mrs. Anna Katherine Kitchen Couch, 81, of No. 4 Worden Apartments, Washington Ave., Alton, died at 12:35 p.m., on Monday, November 8, 1971 at St. Anthony's Hospital, where she had been a patient since Oct. 14.

Before moving to Alton four years ago, she made her home in Peoria, Illinois, where she was employed for 20 years at Hiram Walker Distillery.

She was born in Broughton, Hamilton County, Illinois, Sept 5, 1890, and married Jesse M. Couch in 1910 in Broughton, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1945.

Surviving are two daughters and their spouses, Mrs. Eileen Katherine Couch Yost, and husband Walter F. Yost and Mrs. Lucille M.Couch Schwiete, and her husband George Schwiete, all of Alton; two grandchildren, Joan E. Yost Gross, and Richard Yost, both of Alton.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois, with the Rev. Paul S. Krebs presiding.
Burial will be to Upper Alton Cemetery.
