∼W. H. Poe, Jr, age 93, previously of Crockett passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in the University of Wisconsin Medical Center in Wisconsin. W. H. was born in Lovelady, TX, June 18, 1928 to parents, Walter Henderson Poe, Sr. and Janie Nora Dixon Poe. He was raised Methodist, and graduated from Lovelady High School. W. H. was a retired railroad agent after 40 years working on the old Missouri-Pacific Railroad now known as the Union Pacific Railroad. His hobbies after retirement was working in his 5 gardens, playing golf occasionally, and fishing.
W. H. is survived by daughter, Michelle Poe Cook Hauger and husband, Larry Hauger; grandsons, Bryan Cook and Lance Cook; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by first wife, Dorothy Genora Harrelson Poe; second wife, Irene Dominy Poe; son-in-law, Jesse Bryan Cook; brothers and sisters, Floyd Poe, Harvey Poe, Paul Poe, Mennie Poe Simms, Ruth Poe Seymour, and Jackie Poe Berlowitz.
Funeral services for W. H. Poe, Jr. will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel.
