Rev. Martin J. Steffy, native of Littlestown, where his father still resides, and rector of Sacred Heart church, Lancaster, died Tuesday at the age of about 50 years, according to word received by the Rev. Mark E. Stock, rector of St. Francis Xavier church here. Father Stock, together with the other Catholic church pastors of Adams county, will attend the funeral in Lancaster Friday morning at 10 o'clock.
Father Steffy was widely known throughout Adams county. He was connected with St. Francis Xavier church here a short time about 22 years ago. He had been rector of Sacred Heart church, Lancaster the last 15 years.
