Clarence was born in Webb City, Mo. the only son of Ethel Marie Jones Harlowe and Carl Cleveland Harlowe. After moving to Mt Vernon, MO. Clarence met his future bride, Marguerite Orr and in 1931 they moved to Washington, DC to work with his Uncle John Harlowe in the typesetting business. Clarence was always willing to give a helping hand and had many friends in his church and through his business. Marguerite and Clarence had 3 children.
