Shirley A. Trainor, 73, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, at Joliet Area Hospice Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Winterrowd Funeral Home.Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with MonsignorPrendergast officiating. Burial will be in Moon Point Cemetery in Streator. Pallbearers will be Rodney Shroeder, Harold Jr. and Harold Crank, Jerry Cook, Chuck Tooley and Tom Trainor. She was born July 2, 1935, in Streator, to Harold and Zelma (Whitehurst) Bales. She married Paul A. Trainor on Nov. 27, 1952. He died April 29, 2004. Surviving are five sons,Timothy,Daniel,David andRalph (Roxanne) Trainor, all of Streator, andScott Trainor of Rockford; one daughter, Paula (Erik) Bakalar of Joliet; two sisters, Virginia (Ronald) Gaines of Chebanse andPatricia (Donald) Walker of Rockville, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Tammy Trainor of Streator,Jason Trainor of Bloomington andErika andSteven Bakalar, both of Joliet. She was preceded in death by one son, James Trainor; one daughter, Paulette Trainor; and onebrother, Robert Bales. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. She attended Manville Grade School. Memorials may be made to the Joliet Area Hospice Home or the family of Shirley Trainor.
