Death of Aged Man--The funeral of William Frost, who died at Eureka following a paralytic stroke, occurred this afternoon at that place, from the residence of his son, J. W. Frost. Mr. Frost was 95 years old, and was formerly a shoemaker in a far eastern city, and outfitted with boots the first pioneer party that made the overland trip to California. He was the father of 10 children. A grandson, William Frost, now a prominent real estate man of Spokane, resided here for many years.

The gravestone says William Frost. His actual name was Joseph William Frost, but he always went by William. He and wife, Prudence had 10 children: Thomas A. Frost, Sarah Jane Frost, Mary Ann Frost, John W. Frost, Sylvester G. Frost, Elizabeth Delcena Frost Corbin Place, Anson Marion Frost, Hannah Finetta Frost, Lambert O. Frost and Albia J. Frost.
