He was born May 9, 1922 in Rheasmill, Ark.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a seaman first class. After the Navy, his career spanned more than 40 years in aircraft manufacturing with Lockheed.
He is survived by his sister, Ina Faye Smith; granddaughters, Jill Chadwick, Lisa Stoddard, Kathy McKy; son-in-law, George Chadwick; and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jayson, Nathan and Jacob.
