DURHAM: Edward Anderson Roberts, 85, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his daughter's home in Timberlake. He was born in Hillsborough, N.C., the son of the late Charles Luther Roberts and Eunice Anderson Roberts. In addition to his parents, Ed was also predeceased by his wife, Nancy Mae Allison Roberts; sister, Sue Terry; and brother, Warren Roberts.

Ed was baptized in the Eno River in Hillsborough, NC at a young age. He was a 1954 graduate of Hillsborough High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired from Life of Virginia/Genworth in 1992 he became an independent life insurance agent. Ed was a faithful member of Grey Stone Church. He went to the coast every year in October to surf fish. Ed loved all sports, he was a UNC fan and had a passion for playing golf. He loved watching both granddaughters play volleyball. Ed was a daily patron to Waffle House.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Clark (Frank), Robin Allison Roberts; son, Christopher Edward Roberts; grandchildren, Amanda Ramirez (Carlos), Nicole E. Clark; great-grandson, Blake Anderson Ramirez; sisters, Jeanette Wagoner, Anne Connolly; and brother, Charles "Winkie" Roberts.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 31st at Grey Stone Church with Dr. Clay Waters officiating. Burial will follow the service in Little River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 30th at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Grey Stone Church, 2601 Hillsborough Rd., Durham, NC 27705 or American Heart Association/American Stroke Association - Southeast Region, 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE South Tower Suite 400 Atlanta, GA 30328.
