His obituary was in The Louisville Courier-Journal, Sunday, August 23, 1942. Obituaries abstracted by Dolores Bohn.
A telephone call to his wife, who was visiting in Louisville, wasn't taken seriously at first yesterday and by the time police reached his Lexington apartment, Charles B. Carrico, 36, formerly of Louisville, had taken his life in a gas-filled kitchen. Mrs. Clara Carrico, who left here a year ago when her husband took a defense job in Lexington, was visiting relatives at 10:00 a.m. yesterday when her husband called and advised her he intended to take his life. Some time later, she called Lexington police, just as a precaution. The officers made a trip to the apartment and found Mr. Carrico dead. He left a note, but didn't give any reason for his act. Coroner J. Henry Kerr gave a verdict of suicide. Besides his wife, Mrs. Carrico, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Connie Abell; a brother, Pvt. Felix E. Carrico, Pine Camp, New York; and three sisters, Mrs. Agnita Hatfield, Mrs. Mae Manko and Mrs. Pauline Caldwell. The body was brought to the Carl E. Herbold Funeral Home for funeral services and burial here.
Buried, 8-25-1942, in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, Ky.

Another obituary was in The Louisville Courier-Journal, Monday, August 24, 1942.
