Judy Bader, 61, Hawley, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in Fargo at her sister's home, surrounded by her family. Judy fought a very hard and courageous battle with her cancer, even though she knew there was no cure.

Judith Ann Marie Waldahl was born October 18, 1944 at Fargo, ND to Lloyd and Roslyn (Schobinger) Waldahl. Judy grew up and attended school through the 8th grade in Embden, ND, then attended Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, graduating in 1962. She attended Dakota Business College in Fargo for two years.

Judy and Gene Bader were united in marriage at Fargo on September 1, 1962. They lived in Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead until moving, in 1980, to a subdivision outside of Hawley, where they raised Sharon and Cody.

Gene and Judy operated Bader's Bike and Hobby Shop in Moorhead for 25 years and for the past eight years, Judy worked at the Wal-Mart store in Dilworth, MN. She so enjoyed working and having contact with the public. During her eight years working at Wal-Mart, she gained many dear friends.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She very seldom missed attending any of their school functions, even while she was taking chemotherapy treatments.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; daughter, Sharon (Avery) Foell, West Fargo; son, Cody Bader, Fargo; step-daughter, Janet (Karl) Lang, Independence, KS and three grandchildren, Adam, Amanda and Samantha Foell. Also surviving is a sister, Eleanor (Jerry) Gregerson; two brothers, Charles (Mary Jane) Waldahl, Tooele, UT, Lloyd (Deb) Waldahl, Amenia, ND, a sister-in-law, Cindy Waldahl and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy, a son Ronald, her parents, Lloyd and Roslyn, and a brother, Paul.
