Gene Bader, 73, Hawley, MN passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007 in his home after a long battle with multiple illnesses.
Eugene Delmar Bader was born October 29, 1934 in Kulm, ND to Nathaniel and Ida (Konrad) Bader. Gene grew up in Kulm and attended Edgeley (ND) Elementary School. He spent his high school years in Jamestown, ND graduating in 1952. He attended Dakota Business College in Fargo for two years. Gene was united in marriage to Judy Waldahl in Fargo on September 1, 1962. They lived in Moorhead, West Fargo and Fargo before moving to a subdivision outside of Hawley, MN where they raised Sharon and Cody.
Gene operated Bader's Bike and Hobby Shop for 25 years. He also owned and operated Bader's Tax Service for 20 years. The past nine years, he worked a couple part time jobs in Fargo at Mills Fleet Farm and Mini Mart until retiring in 2002 because of illness. Gene enjoyed sewing and leather craft as well as talking with relatives and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Avery) Foell of West Fargo and Janet (Karl) Lang of Independence, KS; seven grandchildren, Dale, Greg and Nicole Lang, Cody, Adam, Amanda and Samantha Foell; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy in July of 2006; daughter, Wendy; son, Ronald; parents; and sister, Bernette.
Visitation: Monday, November 5, 2007 from 5 to 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo.
Funeral: Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo.
Burial: St. John Cemetery, Embden, ND.
