Margaret C. Fitzgerald of Villa Du Repos, after a long and healthy life, went to be with her Lord after 113 years, on Tuesday October 20, 2009.

Born in Tankville, NB on September 16, 1896 she was the daughter of the late Rubin and Katherine (Godin) King. In younger years Margaret eagerly helped out with the daily duties on the family farm. As a young woman she moved to Moncton and became the assistant to Dr. Reginald D. Fitzgerald. She and Dr. Fitzgerald were later married and moved to St. Pierre and Miquelon for many years. On her birthday in September, she was the oldest known person living in Canada.
