Richard Allen Avery Sr.

Richard Allen "Paw" Avery Sr., 63, of Gore Springs, died Monday, Oct. 19, at his home. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at National Funeral Home. Funeral Services are at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery in Webster County. Bro. Albert Britt and Bro. Harvey Springer will officiate.

Ricky was born on Jan. 8, 1946, in Webster County to Rex and Katie Lee Avery. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Ricky was employed as an auto body repairman for several years.

Mr. Avery was preceded in death by his father, Rex Avery; his mother, Katie Lee Gulledge; his step-father, R.A. Gulledge; two sisters, Barbara Clements and Joyce Clark; and one son, Archie William Avery.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Avery of Gore Springs; one son, Richard Allen Avery Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Enid; and three grandchildren, Christina, Amanda and Matthew.

National Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
