Glendora Hatch Halling passed away in the morning hours in the Minnesota home of her oldest daughter on Monday, July 20, 2009 after a long and wonderful life. She was 91 years old.

She truly enjoyed anytime spent with grandchildren and friends. D.U.P. and the Brigham City senior center were joyful places for her and her many friends the last ten years of her life. All of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren have unique pottery she finished for each of them individually. She also had a great love for music and sang in groups and church choirs most of her life.

Glendy was born April 16, 1918 in Pocatello, Idaho at the home of her grandparents. She was the first child of William Everett Hatch and Lorraine Julia Barrett Hatch.

After starting school in Hatch and then Pocatello, she was educated in Boise, Idaho graduating in 1936.

She worked for the telephone company there until she met and soon married Russell Halling in the Mesa temple on May 17, 1943. He was serving in the US Air Force during WWII, so they didn't see much of each other.

In 1946 they settled in Rockland, Idaho near the Halling family homestead where Russ farmed and ran a herd of dairy cows.

She especially enjoyed her service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day-Saints. She served for 25 years as Rockland ward chorister while also serving as a Primary teacher, Stake Gleaner Leader, and both ward and stake YWMIA counselor and president, and also as ward Relief Society president. Her greatest hope was to live a good example of righteousness. Russ and Glendy also immensely enjoyed their North Carolina Charlotte Mission, as well as their many years "snow birding" in Mesa, Arizona after his retirement.

She sang in a trio for many years with dear friends at all kinds of occasions and even recorded some of their favorite songs along the way.

Glendy and Russ were blessed with 4 children, 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren who were the love of her life.

Russ and son Rusty preceded her in death.

Daughters Carolynn Shasky (Joe), and Marilyn Fuller (Jim), and son Dee (Maree) survive.

Her siblings were also very dear to her---Marie, Robert, Leland, all deceased, and she is survived by Loren and Claire.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25th at 11 a.m. at Brigham City's 19th Ward LDS Chapel, 105 W. Fishburn Drive.

Friends may call Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 So. and Saturday morning 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Graveside dedication Monday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. Rockland, Idaho Cemetery.
