Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, L. Ridd Grover, 82 passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2009 at McKay-Dee Medical Center in Ogden, Utah. He was born on December 12, 1926 in Arco, Idaho, a son of Lowell A. and Merle Ridd Grover.

Ridd served in the US Navy during World War II. He trained in San Diego, CA and then was stationed in Pearl Harbor. While in Hawaii, he went to school to learn to be a signalman and then his ship went to the Philippines. After receiving an honorable discharge he came home and graduated from Weber State College and Utah State College an attained his degree in education and business.

He married Geraldine Keller and they had three sons, Bruce, Dennis and Michael. They were later divorced. Ridd then married Pat Huggins Woodyatt on April 10, 1976. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Ridd was a bookkeeper for Packer Automotive. He then taught business at Bear River High School for six years, and after that he went to work for J.D. Harris in Tremonton for 10 years. He then went back to teaching school at Box Elder High School and was head of the business department retiring in 1992.

Ridd and Pat went on three missions, London South Mission, Philippines Temple, and Hong Kong Temple. He was an active member of the Box Elder Search and Rescue Team. He was an active member of the LDS church serving in Elders Presidency, Stake and Ward Executive Clerks and Ward Mission Leader.

Ridd enjoyed fishing at Marsh Lake and hunting at Buck Hollow with his friends.

Surviving is his wife, Pat, Brigham City; two sons, Bruce (Barbara) Grover, Spanish Fork; Michael (Millie) Grover, North Salt Lake; four step daughters, Tereasa (Dean) Stokes, Perry; Shelley (Brent) Dahle, Logan; Tammy (Steve) Wood, Layton; Susie (Steve) Braegger, Bear River City; two stepsons, Harvey (Julie) Woodyatt, Lindon; Dan Woodyatt, Layton, 32 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Pat) Grover, Provo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dennis Grover, one brother, Scott Grover.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City First Ward Chapel, 236 East 100 South.

A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Box Elder County Veterans.
