Major League Baseball Player. He was a member of the 1927 New York Yankees "Murderers Row" team. He played for the Yankees from 1926 to 1929 and the Washington Senators from 1929 to 1930. A right handed pitcher, he had a career ERA of 4.64 with a record of 23-22. Even though the Yankees won the World Series in 1927 and 1928, he played in neither series. Babe Ruth
gave him his nickname.
