From the "Springfield Daily News," (Springfield, MA), 19 Jan 1915, in part:
Robert S. Gunn, 47, a native of this city, died yesterday in Berne, Switz., after an illness of several years. News of his death was received in a cablegram to his sister, Mrs. W. F. Callender of Longmeadow.
Mr. Gunn was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gunn and was born in the family home.... He was married to Miss Alice Brooks of Newton and lived in Boston and New York for several years.
They went to Europe a number of years ago and spent most of their time in Paris. Mrs. Gunn died eight years ago and was buried in this city. There were no children....
