Edward A. Gruebmeyer, 88, of 313 Doering St., Sidney, Ohio passed away at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at the Pavilion Nursing Home at Sidney.

Edward was born Aug. 19, 1921, to the late Edward H. & Emma Marie (Kolthoff) Gruebmeyer in Auglaize County. On Nov. 16, 1947, he married Mildred Schroer, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Cynthia Minton of Sidney; grandchildren Vince and Timarie Francis, Ryan and Jennifer Bennett, Christina Chaney; and great granddaughters Libby and Emilee.

Edward retired after 25 years of service for the B & O Railroad as Station Master. He worked for 15 years at Monarch Machine of Sidney and for the Sidney City Schools.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with Pastor Brent Driver officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilson Memorial Hospice in Edward's memory.
