The death of Jacob Frank, one of the oldest merchants of Bloomington occurred Tuesday while he was dozing in a chair, at his home, 804 S. Lee St. He was 85 years old and came here forty-eight years ago from Somerset, Pa., where he was born.
He was married to Catherine Weyand, Oct. 24, 1859. For many years he engaged in the grocery business. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. He was the father of Henry or "Teddy", who was killed at the old jail in 1882 by a prisoner; Michael, Cyrus, Joseph, and Edward, Mrs. Mary Smith and Sarah and Julia, all of Bloomington.
