Nellie Jane Bivins, 91, of Live Oak died Sept. 30, 2007, at Live Oak Manor in Live Oak.

Born in Brownsville, Texas, she was a longtime Yuba-Sutter resident.

She worked at Sutter General Hospital as a housekeeper.

Also, she was a member of the Gridley Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Road Runners Square Dance Club of Yuba City.

Survivors include five daughters, Reba Joy Bowls, Carolle Fay Stone and Cynthia Jane Wilkins, all of Live Oak, Doris Lorene Bivins of Sacramento and Patricia June Larsen of Powell, Wyo.; a son, Joseph Dean Bivins of Live Oak; two sisters, Ethel Lea of Yuba City and Ellie Armstrong of Loma Rica; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Harmon Stone and Alfred Taylor Bivins; two sisters; and five brothers.

Services: Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel, 679 Ohio St., Gridley. A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, also at the chapel. Pastor Myron Tait of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gridley will officiate. Burial is in the Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak. .Published in Appeal Democrat on October 3, 2007
