OBITUARIES
Robert K. Stroup Funeral Services Will Be Held Today in Mallard

Mallard - Funeral services for Robert K. Stroup of Mallard will be held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the United Methodist Church in Mallard. The Rev. Don Bogue will officiate.
Burial will be in Rush Lake Cemetery, Mallard. The Schellhammer-Harris Funeral Home in Mallard is in charge of arrangements.
Honorary bearers are Clarence Doerning, Milo Reinders, Ray Reinders, Orlo Oskvig, Clarence Schuller, Ralph Schnieders, Lester Gehrt and Eugene Schumacher.
Casket bearers are Ronald Stroup, Sam Aronson, Richard Aronson, Rodney Hough, Randy Hough and Bryan Rittgers.
A Masonic Service was recited by the Mishna Masonic Lodge Monday evening, Nov. 13, at the funeral home.
Mr. Stroup died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg of an apparent heart attack. He was 73.
Robert Kenneth Stroup was born Sept. 13, 1922, in rural Palo Alto County, the son of Sam and Edith (Yocum) Stroup. He attended schools in Webb and Emmetsburg, then graduated from Mallard High School in 1940.
On June 13, 1948, Robert Stroup and Delores Breiholz were married in West Bend. The couple lived in Mallard all of their married lives. Mr. Stroup was manager of the Mallard Creamery and later was part owner and operator of H & S Plumbing and Heating in Mallard.
Mr. Stroup was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mallard and the Mishna Masonic Lodge of Pocahontas. He was a member of the Mallard Volunteer Fire Department for years. An avid sports fan, last fall he was honored as Grand Marshall for the West Bend-Mallard Homecoming Parade.
Survivors include his wife, Delores, of Mallard; a daughter, Joan Cornelius of Woodbury, Minn.; and two grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, June Hough of Mallard and Erma Levene of Pocahontas.
Mr. Stroup was preceded in death by two infant children; his parents; four sisters and five brothers.
