"The LaFayette Sun" - March 25, 1914:
Death of Mrs. W. H. Bedell.
Dr. W. C. Bledsoe was called to Waverly last Monday to preach the funeral of Mrs. W. H. Bedell. She was the wife of Rev. W. H. Bedell, an old veteran Baptist preacher well known and greatly beloved in all East Alabama. She was married to Mr. Bedell in 1865, and through all the years had been a loving and faithful wife and mother. The aged husband survives her and the following children: Mrs. J. C. Gross, Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. A. Mooreman, Waverly, Ala., Mrs. E. C. James, Waverly, Ala., Mrs. John McKee, Notasulga, Ala., and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was 71 years of age and for some time had been in feeble health. A devoted Christian she lived to honor her Redeemer into whose presence she has gone with triumphant rejoicing, there to await the coming to those she loved so well in this life.
