Darlene Lois Patton, of Longmont, Colo., died Sept. 29, 2004, at Applewood Living Center. She was 71.
Darlene was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Harvard to Lester Charles Trautman and Evelyn Irene Evans Trautman. She grew up in Nebraska, attending McCook High School.
In 1953, she moved to Longmont with her family.
On Aug. 5, 1951, she married Edward L. Patton in Oberlin. One year later Ed joined the Air Force and together they spent 20 years of military service.
They later embarked on a career of over the road truck driving.
She later entered the field of electronics as an assembler with many local companies, including Gould Filter Company, Samsonite, Lange Ski and Sherwood Enterprises.
An avid reader, she read a couple of books a week for the last number of years. She enjoyed watching sports on television and actively followed all the local Colorado professional and collegiate teams.
Preceding her in death are her father; brother-in-law, Kenneth L. Patton; sister-in-law, Patricia Patton Parham; a brother Norman Trautman and a son-in-law, Brian Kennedy.
Surviving are her husband of Longmont; her mother of Hendley; a son, Edward Patton, Jr., and wife, Phyllis of Grand Junction; two daughters, Kathy Arthur and her husband, Ed of Longmont and Cindy Kennedy of Frederick; two brothers, Marlin Trautman and his wife, Verdina of Plainview and Garry Trautman and his wife, Maxine of Longmont; two sisters, Dee Dunston and her husband, Ray of Cadott, Wis., and Ruth Trautman of Hendley; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at the Foothills Gardens of Memory with David Bradshow officiating.
A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Crematory in Longmont.
