Son of John Walker and Rachel Croshaw Walker. He settled Rye Field (his home) about 1700 which boarded the Mattaponi River for 10 miles. The shipping port of Walkerton was built there. He married Mary Susannah Peachy 24 Sept 1709 at St. Clements Church, VA. Some of his 8 kids who survived were: Mary Peachy Walker b.1710 who married Dr. Geo Gilmer Sr.; Sarah Walker who 1st married Lord Wm. Fairfax then Robt. Page; Dr. James Walker who married Ann Hill of the Carter family; Mary Jane Walker who married Capt. Thomas Massie; John Walker b. 1711 and famed explorer Dr. Thomas Walker last born in 1715.Capt Walker died at Rye Field and was buried there.
