Nancy LEWIS (daughter of John LEWIS b. 1777 NC d. 1837 KY and Nancy HEATH b. 1780 NC d. 1852 KY)married Martin Silvers on Nov 19 1829 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. Nancy LEWIS was born on Jan 18 1817 probably in NC as her parents were married in 1795 Surry Co., NC. She appeared on the census on Jul 18 1860 in Woodford Co., Kentucky. She and Rev. Martin Silvers had 11 children. Their 3 oldest sons served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Pvt. John Shelby Silvers was the only son to die in the war and is buried in Mill Springs National Cem. at Nancy, KY.
