Jo Margaret McCoy, 94, of Memphis, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Signature Healthcare. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 20 at the funeral home. For many years, Jo Margaret worked for Methodist Hospital, starting out as an elevator operator and working her way up to office manager. She left Methodist Hospital to start her family, raising 2 children and caring for her husband. Together, they owned and operated Mac's Restaurant for many years. She was a longtime member of Merton Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband, Rual E. McCoy, Sr. She is survived by her son, Rual E. "Gene" McCoy, Jr. of Arlington, TN; her daughter, Janice Carter of Hernando, MS; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Janie Frances Coffey of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
