Staff Sergeant Temples To Be Reburied Sunday

Reburial services for Staff Sergeant Ewell C. Temples, 21 will be conducted at graveside in Canoochee cemetery, Emanuel county, Sunday, Oct. 30 with Elders R. N. Riner of Graymont, J. A. Smith of Vidalia and Rev. Robert H. Orr, Presbyterian minister of Vidalia, officiating.
Sgt. Temples was killed in action, November 27, 1943, while serving as radio serviceman, 14th Airforce, U.S. Army.

Sgt. Temples was the eight son of Elder D. R. Temples, Bulloch county, and Mrs. Gertrude Durden Temples, Emanuel county. He was born in Emanuel, but was reared in Vidalia. He entered the armed service and was sent oversea October 20, 1943, his death in action coming just 37 days later.
The Toombs county Post No. 97, American Legion, will provide an escort and active pallbearers and the Vidalia Scout Troop No. 33 will provide an honorary escort. Before going into service Mr. Temples was interested in Scouting and was Scoutmaster of this troop. He was of the Primitive Baptist persuasion.
Besides his parents, he is survived by seven brothers, H.H. Temples, V.D. Temples, and Larkin Temples of Vidalia; Max of New Castle, Ind.; Jack B, of New Orleans, Ralph B. of Macon and Manning E. Temples of Angola, Ind.; five sisters, Mrs. Louis Calhoun and Miss Sarah Temples of Vidalia, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Kirkland of St. George, Utah, Mrs. Louise Cook of Endicott, N.Y., and Miss Margaret Temples of Macon.
