NORTH CARROLLTON -- Services for Eugenia Captola Odom of North Carrollton will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Providence Baptist Church in Carrollton.

Mrs. Odom, 97, died of heart failure Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.

She was a member of and Sunday School teacher at Providence Baptist Church and a retired cafeteria employee for J.Z. George High School. She loved quilting, baking pies and taking care of and visiting with friends.

She was the widow of the late, Robert R. Beckwith, Carl H. Johnson and Bluford T. Odom. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Enoch and Martha Bishop; four brothers, Pat, Roy, Ira and Compton Bishop; four sisters, Nettie, Willie and Nita Bishop and Victoria Weeks; and one daughter-in-law, Kitty Beckwith.

Mrs. Odom is survived by two sons, Richard "John" Beckwith of North Carrollton and his wife, Norma, and Robert E. "Bobby Gene" Beckwith of Kenston, N.C.; one sister, Bertie Woods of Macon; three grandchildren, Glenda Gene Mims, Robert R. Beckwith and Robert E. Beckwith Jr.; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home in Winona.

The Rev. David Haggerty will officiate at the services assisted by the Rev. Reidis Nash. Pallbearers will be Billy Mims, Jimmy Avant, J.D. Nester, Steve Anderson, Doug Nester and Robert E. Beckwith III. Honorary pallbearers are Earl Nester, Robert E. Beckwith Jr. and Bob Sowell.

Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery near Carrollton.
