Funeral service for Mrs. Leif Nelson, 73, rural Heimdal were held 7 Jun 1982 at the Viking Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.
She was born near Esmond, ND and received her education at Esmond and Maddock, where she graduated from in 1927. She continued her education at Minot Normal School where she received her teaching certificate. Violet taught school at Graham's Island later in South Viking Township both in Benson County.
After marrying Leif the couple lived on their farmstead in Norway Lake Township in Wells County, ND.
Survivors include her husband and one son Dewain N. Nelson of Denver, CO. Nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Her brothers, Wilford Brown of Esmond and Allen Brown of Esmond and one sister, Mrs. Gladys Wilbur of Portland, OR.
Preceded in death by her parents, son Leif Eugene Nelson, a grandson Bradley Nelson, five sisters: Edna, Pansy, Ethel, Evelyn and Clarabelle; five brothers: Ralph, Alex, Henry, Preston, and Alfred.
