Denver -- Funeral services for former Liebenthal resident Julia Ann Schmidt, 73, were Saturday, May 17 in Denver. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Denver.
Schmidt died Wednesday May 14 at Denver. She was born May 14, 1913 in St. Peter to Alexander and Anna (Sauer) Doerfler. She grew up on a farm near Hays.
She married Prenius Schmidt Sept. 20, 1932 at Liebenthal.
They lived in Liebenthal and Loretto until 1937 when they moved to Colorado. She was employed by Kuners Connery, Brighton, Colo., until 1962. She worked as a school cook until her retirement. She belonged to the Altar Society of Brighton, Colo.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Harlan and LeRoy, both of Northglenn, Colo., and Leon, Denver; one daughter, Ermalinda Dechant, Northglenn, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
