Chicago Tribune, September 15, 1907: "Francesco Urgos, 75 years old, a chevalier in the army of Garibaldi, will be buried today at 1 pm after funeral services at the Ada Street Methodist Episcopal church. The chevalier died on Thursday at his residence, Lake and Ada streets. Urgos was born at [N]ice [sic] Dec. 25, 1832 and came to the United States on his banishment from Italy in 1852, locating in Chicago a short time afterward. He was a participant in all the battles fought by Garibaldi. For more than forty years, Urgos was totally blind. He leaves a wife and four children."

Note: At the time of Urgos' birth, his natal city of Nice was on the French/ Italian frontier.
