Highly Esteemed Niles Resident Passes away
As briefly stated in yesterdays edition of the Daily Star, Mrs. C.A.Gerberich, a well known and highly esteemed resident, has been summoned beyond.
The end came peacefully at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The deceased has been ailing for the past two years, and a week ago she suffered a fall,sustaining injuries about the head, which are believed to have hastened the end very materially.
Mrs. Gerberich who was a lady of a kind and loving disposition, was born at East Hanover,Penn., March 15 1828. Many years of her life were spent in this city and vicinity, where she had a host of friends. A number of years ago Mr.Gerberich passed away. The children who survive their parents are, Henry and Joseph of Langsford, S.D.; Charles of St. Johns, Mich.; Miss Mary of Lawrence,Kas.; Mrs. James Kingery of Philipsburg,Kas.;and Mrs. Amos Ribble, Mrs.Samuel Thomson, Mrs William VanNess and Miss Kate of this city. All of the children are here, except Mrs. Kingery and Henry Gerberich.
The funeral will take place from the home on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev.Dr.Lowrie, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, of which the deceased was a devoted member, officiating. The burial will take place at Silver Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Catherine Anna Gerberich died Wednesday afternoon from old age aggravated by a recent accident.
Mrs. Gerberich was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller and was born in East Hanover, Pa., March 15, 1828. Her family moved to St. Joseph county, Indiana, in 1837 and were among the first settlers of South Bend.
Mrs. Gerberich was the mother of eleven children of whom seven are living. They are Mrs. Jas. Kingery, of Phillipsburg, Kas.; Miss Mary Gerberich of Lawrence, Kas.; Harry and Joseph Gerberich of Langsford, S.D.; and Chas Gerberich of St. Johns, Mich.; Mrs. Amos Ribble, Mrs. Samuel Thomson, Mrs. Wm. VanNess and Miss Kate Gerberich of Niles. A brother, Joseph Miller of South Bend and a sister, Mrs. Kingery of Buchanan, also survive.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 at the late residence, 598 Broadway, the Rev. J.G. Lowrie officiating. The remains will be interred at Silver Brook.
