Margaret Shephard Baker, 68, Forest Lake, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday, October 22, at Memorial Hospital due to strokes and diabetes. Mrs. Baker had been ill for several years. Mrs. Maker was born July 31, 1903, in Ferndale, Manitoba, Canada, and she attended public school in Sanford, Manitoba. On December 27, 1926, she was married to Cecil Thomas Baker, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her husband, Cecil, died on November 16, 1969. Mrs. Baker lived in Manitoba, Canada, until 1939, and then she and her husband moved to North Dakota to a farm. In 1946 she moved to Forest Lake. She was a member of the Wyoming Methodist Church before she became a member of the Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Forest Lake. She was a member of the Willing Workers Ladies Aid and of the W.S.C.S. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 25, 1971, at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Forest V. Strnad officiating. Interment was in Wyoming Methodist Cemetery. The organist was Mrs. Albert J. Hein, Forest Lake, and soloist, Mrs. Delbert C. Sawyer. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Surviving Mrs. Baker are five daughters; a son; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
