Howard Boyd Bodkin born August 21, 1897, died January 18, 1919, age 21 years, 4 mos., and 18 days. His death was due to influenza followed by pneumonia. He leaves to mourn his loss an aged father & mother, 4 sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Harry Rexrode, of Parnassus; Mrs. G.J. Crummett, of Palo Alto; Martin E., Camp Mead, MD.; Cora, Laura, Pinckney, Delbert at home, besides he leaves a host of friends and relatives. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Brethren church for several years and was always ready to help in church work and any one in need. He was a loving brother and a kind friend. By a Sister

Howard B. Botkin, died Jan. 19, 1919, from influenza followed by pneumonia, aged 21 years. He was the second son of Eli Botkin, and his wife, Ida M., who live near Botkin's Mill (Palo Alto) near head of South Fork. His older brother (Martin Botkin) is in the service, Howard was in the draft but had not been called. He leaves his parents, three brothers and four sisters. His father has chronic rheumatism and works but very little hence Howard was the main support of the family and was noted for his care and industry. He had been a consistent member of the church of the Brethren for several years, hence was ready when the summons came.
