Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at First United Methodist Church - Bowman Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Peggy was born on September 23, 1930, to the late Winfield Shelley and Lillian Beatrice (Blake) Berry in Lamesa, Texas. She married Arnold Richards on June 1, 1949, in Lubbock. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1993.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She was active in the Homebuilders Sunday School Class, FUMC Quilting Group, South Lubbock Investment Club, and various social groups. She will be missed by all.
Those left to cherish her memories are four children, Ronald Richards and wife Sharon, Bryan Richards and wife Marsha, Clark Richards and wife Becky, and Laura Richards-Rocha and husband D.J.; nine grandchildren, Daniele, Elise, Jeff, Kyle, Justin, Erik, Katy, Zachary, and Megan; two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Victoria; and a sister, Emogene Smith.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
