Melvin Ambers was born in July of 1873 in the town of Norwegian Grove in Otter Tail County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the North Immanuel Church of Otter Tail County. He came to North Dakota and settled in Wells County on 16 Jun 1897 where he filed on a homestead in Norway Lake township of Wells County, ND. He was married to Louisa on 16 Feb 1901. He moved to Hamberg in 1943 where he made his home until his sudden death in the Harvey Hospital of a heart attack. Burial in Block 3 Plot 1.
