CLARENCE C. BALLEW
Funeral services for Clarence C. Ballew, who died Sunday night at 7:45 o'clock at a local hospital following one week's illness, will be held from the Morgan Memorial Baptist Church this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. The Rev. P.M. Webb will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Paul Kinnett, after which interment will be made in the American Spinning Company cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bronson Bradley, Lloyd Finley, Earl Fisher, Rufus Center, Truluck Land and Luther Gillyard.
Honorary pallbearers: W.M. Morton, J.C. Satterfield, Ralph Morgan, Lee Goodlett, Arthur Walsh, J.D. Bridwell, R.L. Burrell and T. Harbin.
Mr. Ballew was a resident of 222 Hammett Street and had spent all of his life in Greenville. He was an employee of the American Spinning Company and had many friends in that community, being known to them as "Boss Center".
He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church at the American Spinning Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lila Barbare Ballew; two daughters and two sons, Evelyn, Gaynette, Bennie Verner and Clarence Morton Ballew, all of this city; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stafford Ballew; sister, Miss Rometter Ballew and grandfather, A.P. Ballew, all of this city.
The body is at the residence awaiting the hour of the service.
