After further research, I believe Margaret to be the daughter of William E. Willis and Rachel Spears. Her brothers Milton K. and John S. Willis are named on the probate records of her first husband dated Aug 29, 1853 and she can be found in the same locations as her parents and siblings. My first clue was the maiden name of her daughter Josephine was Armstrong not Hughes and that she was born in Arkansas, not Texas. I believe the marriage record in Burnet County, Texas in 1855 should read Margaret Armstrong, NOT Margaret Ann Strong. DNA from a descendant would prove this. (09/07/2021)
