Miss Alice Thorp’s
Funeral Tomorrow

Services for Miss Alice A. Thorp, granddaughter of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, will be held tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. from her home, 115 Brattle St., Cambridge.

Miss Thorp died yesterday at her home after an illness of several months.

Her mother, the late Annie Longfellow Thorp, was the youngest daughter of the poet and was the “laughing Allegra” of his poem “The Children’s Hour.”

Miss Thorp was a life-long resident of Cambridge. She was associated for many years with Shady Hill School, the Family Society and the Paine Fund of the First Parish Church in Cambridge.

She leaves three sisters, Mrs. Robert Knowles, Miss Anne Thorp and Mrs. Calvert Smith.
