Vaughna Arlene Alliston, age 87, Windsor Place resident, Coffeyville, Kansas entered into rest on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

She was born September 17, 1918 in Milan, Kansas to Ora Ray Ash and Delcie May (Chamberlin) Ash.

Their family made their home in Wellington, Kansas. After she graduated the 8th Grade she started working cleaning homes and then was a clerk for several years at Eckerman Variety, Wellington, Kansas.

On March 17, 1940 she married Henry "Kenneth" Alliston in Wellington, Kansas. They lived in Piedmont, Howard and later moved to a farm north of Wayside, Kansas. Mr. Alliston preceded her in death January 14, 1997.

Mrs. Alliston was a school cook at Wayside, Havana and Caney for 15 years. She also wrapped meat at Consumer's Market at Caney for many years until she retired.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and Ladies Bible Class at Caney, Kansas and later of Coffeyville, Kansas. She was also a member of the Montgomery County EHU (Extension Homemaker Unit) for many years.

Survivors include:1 son, Al Alliston, Wichita, Ks.; 1 daugther, Linda Fadely, Sedan, Ks.

4 grandchildren, Doug Alliston, Folsom, Ca.; Gayle Koster, Wichita, Ks.; David Alliston, Havana, Ks.; Jakenna Lebsock, Tucson, Az.

6 great grandchildren

2 sisters, Eunice Dale McMillan, Wellington, Ks.; Delcie Irene Madison, Silverdale, Wa.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Doris Eileen Shelnutt and 1 brother, Ora Ray Ash.

Calling hours/Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1 , 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm., Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Coffeyville Church of Christ. Minister Tom Barton will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Havana Cemetery, Havana, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to SafeHouse of Coffeyville, Sedan Education Foundation or Search Program for the Church of Christ.
