Husband of Mary Ann Myer Walker. Married Apr.6, 1848, Farmington, Van Buren, IA. Three children were born to this union:

Franklin Fruit (1849-?); Mary Elizabeth (Walker) Grubb (1851-1930); Crittenden Nathaniel (1854-1856).

Was murdered by a fellow wagon train traveler in route to Oregon. A Mr. Griffith drove wagon for Fruit Walker, he quarreled with another teamster and tried to hit him over the head w/an ox yoke; when Fruit intervened Griffith shot and killed him. (Ref: Emigrants to Oregon in 1853).
