TUSCALOOSA | Renee S. Collins, age 46, of Tuscaloosa, died October 6, 2005 at DCH-Tuscaloosa. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rodrick and Ruby Shirley Boler, Jewel Wooten and Orman Stephens; and father-in-law, Marcus Collins.
Survivors include her husband, Daryl W. Collins; daughter, Emily Faith Collins; son, Patrick Ian Collins; sister, Karen (Mark) Mowdy; brother, Quinn (Audrey) Stephens; parents, Don and Shirley Boler Stephens; mother-in-law, Brenda Collins; sister-in-law, Beverly (Graeme) Parnell; one niece, three nephews, and many other relatives.
Renee went home to her Lord on October 6, 2005 following a short illness. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a 1977 graduate of TCHS and a double graduate of the University of Alabama. Renee worked as a registered nurse at DCH for 23 years. She was a cherished employee and preceptor for many new nurses. She was an active member of University Church of Christ – Bible school teacher, family group member and co-hosted University Christian Ministries Coffee House. Renee was secretary of Matthews Elementary PTA and a volunteer for Girl Scout Troop #150. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Mark Mowdy, Kyle Stephens, James Crawford, Bobby Boler, Hugo Covington, Brett Gagner, Graeme Parnell, and Michael White.
