Elizabeth Easter (Brittain) Andre was born on April 25, 1853 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania to Joseph Hutchinson Brittain, Sr. and Belinda (Clark) Brittain. She married Rev. Joseph Newton Andre. Elizabeth died on January 10, 1925 in North Carolina.

Her father Joseph Brittain wrote this afadavit regarding his children:

'To whom it may concern: I Joseph Brittain of the State of Ohio, Columbiana, USA do hereby certify that I am the father of the following children: Rev. Jeremiah Reed Brittain, DD, Greenville, PA; Mrs. Lydia J. Chamberlain, East Palestine, OH; Dr. William C. Brittain, Cochranton, PA; Mrs. Elizabeth Andre, New Brighton, PA; Joseph I. Brittain, East Palestine, OH. And that my father's name was Jeremiah Brittain, b. 1774, died on his farm known as Contentment about 4 miles from the town of New Brighton, PA. I further certify that his father's name, my grandfather was Samuel Brittain, b. 9 Mar 1750, and that the said Samuel Brittain served in the Revolutionary War known as the American War for Independence. That he enlisted as a private in Captain McCalla's Company 2nd Battalion, Bucks Co., PA Associators Colonel John Beatty and that he enlisted on the 21st day of August 1775...Sworn to on this 8th day of October 1899. Signed Joseph Brittain.'"
