FINZEL,MARYLAND -- Norma Lee Fickes, 56, of 57 Sampson Rock Road, Finzel, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.

Born April 21, 1941, in Finzel, she was the daughter of Effie (Werner) Shockey, Finzel, and the late Roy Shockey.

Mrs. Fickes was a homemaker. She was a member of the Faith Independent Baptist Church, Frostburg.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband of 32 years, Herman Fickes; two sons, Billy J. Fickes, Grantsville, and Barry E. Fickes and wife Kimberly, LaVale; one brother, Rudy Shockey and wife Sandy; one sister, Bonnie Shockey, all of Finzel; two grandchildren, Jennifer Fickes and Christopher Fickes, both of Grantsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Faith Independent Baptist Church, 301 Shaw St., Frostburg, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Childs officiating.

Interment will be in Finzel Cemetery.
