She married first to Nathaniel Cox (who died in 1850), and then to Daniel Walker (who died in 1874). Many of the kids in the area around Fairfax thought she was a witch because she always wore black dresses and had a herb garden, including her twin grandsons, Pearl and Earl Morgan.

She has a shared tombstone with her daughter, Mary Rebecca Rachel (Walker) Barrackman, her son-in-law, Harve Barrackman, and another woman named Matilda J. Mathews (relationship unknown). The stone cutter, however, made an error when creating this tombstone--he switched the death dates for Matilda (who died in 1922, according to her death certificate) and Rebecca (who died in 1910, according to her death certificate and obituary).
