A native of Tennessee, Alexander Bigby Lipscomb was a man of many talents. The son of Granville Lipscomb, a nephew of David Lipscomb, A.B. spent most of his life in Nashville, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., and Valdosta, Ga. He was educated at Transylvania College and Vanderbilt University. A.B. served briefly as the president of David Lipscomb College and wrote for the Gospel Advocate from 1912 to 1920. He died at a Nashville hospital and is buried in the Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Ky. Gospel Advocate, June 2005.
