Rites Held For Mrs. Ida Norris-

Mrs. C. I. Norris Dies On Saturday At Age 94;

Last Rites Held Here Tuesday.

Another long-time resident of Table Rock was called by the Grim Reaper, when Mrs. Ida Norris passed away at the Humboldt Holman Hospital on Saturday morning after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Norris, 94, was the wife of C. I. Norris, who was i the grocery business in Table Rock for many decades until his death in the mid-40's. She was also the Centennial Queen at the Festival in 1958, the honor bestowed to the oldest lady of the Table Rock present at the Centennial celebration.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Table Rock on Tuesday afternoon with Rev. W. N. Wallis officiating. Burial was made in the Table Rock cemetery.

Singers at the services were Mr. and Mrs. George Tomek, with Mrs. Wayne Diehm as organist. Pallbearers included Marvin Kent, Charles Binder, Gordon Bethel, Martin Cumro, Jay Barnard, and Floyd Vrtiska.

SARAH IDA PHILLIPS was born at Long Point, Ill., April 18, 1866. In 1882 she came to Nebraska with her parents, who had purchased a farm northwest of Table Rock.

Here she lived until her marriage November 30, 1887 to Mr. Charles I. Norris. To this union were born three children: Edgar Norris of Table Rock, Mrs. Eunice Peters of Omaha, and Mrs. Aline Bare of Lincoln.

At the time of her marriage she transferred her membership to the Methodist Church, where she has been a member for 73 years.

After several months of illness she passed away on June 25th at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 7 days.Surviving beside her three children are 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral services for Mrs. Ida Norris included Robert Peters of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Joyce Voile, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. c. R. Scism and Mrs. Jean Bonner of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Herbert and Miss Lillian Herbert of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and John Wilson of Pawnee City.
