Evangeline R. McConnell, 87, a resident of Woodcrest in Decatur, died Tuesday in Adams County Memorial Hospital.She was born on July 1, 1905 in Culver, Indiana and married Richard K. McConnell on August 30, 1924. He died on January 2, 1973.She was a homemaker and a member of the board of directors of F. McConnell and Son of New Haven. She was also a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and its Faith Circle, and the Civic Department of Decatur Women's Club.Surviving are a son, Kenneth J. McConnell, Decatur; a daughter, Kathleen Taylor, Belmont, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Richard C. McConnell; a brother, Charles McConnehey; a sister, Abbie Kolter; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Rev's. Fuhrman Miller and Lynn Soughan officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Preferred memorials are to the church.
